Performance

of rounded shape...

„There are not many explicitly original speakers in the market - and if so, they either stick to the low price range, where laborious originality necessarily means sound compromise, or are among the (ultra) expensive solitaires with excellent sound, but only available for a few chosen ones. Intervox design speaker is somewhere in between - everything is subordinate to design (and therefore need to use an extremely laborious way of construction), costs a lot, but not unreachably lot and their sound shows that somebody spent some time and really tuned them. The result is a compact bookshelf of boldly different shapes that can deliver music in a cool, nice and non-conflicting way. In the context of its price class, classic high-end competition is clearly more detailed and dynamic, but obviously also more dull in its look. Even so, the Intervox design speaker does a job worthy of a higher class of hi-fi technology - InterVox's purely design objects are definitely better off than you would expect.“ (www.hifi-voice.com)

How they play?

Intervox design speakers plays completely purely, and in detail. It is detailed in the centre, accurate in depth, overall clean and readable. Instruments and voices are clearly separated and can be easily identified.

Rounded shape

Against a more classic design, this shape solves the problem of standing waves, stiffness of construction and diffraction.

1) Standing waves

Standing waves are one of the main factors of the overall distortion of the speaker. This shape, without parallel walls (not even the supports are parallel), prevents it’s formation.

2) Stiffness of the walls

The round shape is generally several times stronger than the flat plate. Exactly for this reason, submarines aren’t square. High rigidity prevents any wall deflections, even at maximum speaker power.

3) Diffraction

Diffraction is a phenomenon where the sound wave from the loudspeaker hits the edge, bends on it, and then acts as an additional signal source. There is interference with the original wave, resulting in significant ripple of both amplitude (= frequency) and directional characteristics. But the edges are ineffective – The best is when the system is round. Everywhere, even the front wall.
